About Me

I was born in England, grew up in Australia, lived intermittently in England again, and have lived in Germany for over 10 years.

I'm equally happy speaking English and German. I studied Computer Science and various languages (German, French, Sanskrit) at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. I like building things with Unix machines - it's like playing with Lego, but even better because you can design your own bricks.

When I'm not doing that I play the bagpipes (this is something like a second career for me) or go mountain-biking, skiing, or scuba-diving.

Currently I play Claymore Pipes & Drums, Munich (www.c-p-d.de)
and in the past I played often with Cullen Pipe Band, Cullen, Eire (www.cullenpipeband.com).
In addition I have concert and tour experience with Carlos Nunez (Galicia) and Gotthard (Switzerland).
