I have over 18 years experience designing, implementing, testing, and installing UNIX software: from network daemons and language parsers in C, web backends and application development in Perl and PHP, customising and automating administrative tasks with shell scripts, to web frontend manipulation with Javascript.

In recent years I have gathered extensive experience in designing and implementing solutions for High Availability: maintaining constant availability during system rollouts, and preventing downtime or data loss due to unexpected failures.

As a team lead of developers or testers, I can provide a good interface between management and technical staff, because on the one hand I can describe complicated systems in a way that management can relate to, and on the other hand I understand the work environment in which technical workers function best.

I can communicate effectively with users, managers, and developers - in both small and large organisations - in English and German to find out what people expect from their software, and co-ordinate these expectations to everyone's satisfaction.
