You've found open source package XYZ.tar.gz somewhere on the web, and it's just the thing for your problem, but when you type "make", you see a long stream of error messages and you don't know what to do next? All flavours of UNIX are mostly created equal, but there are differences between them, and what works in someone else's setup might not work in yours. It doesn't mean you have to give up - I can get it running for you. Or perhaps you want to have Apache, Mysql, or some such package tuned to run better on your hardware - I'll show you what to do.
