AG software services

Projects, excerpt

  • Development of technical test concepts for the High Availability mechanisms in a large web and email platform, with architectural input into the failover strategies for the mail store backends
  • Designed, implemented, tested, and executed a Highly-Available Rollout strategy for a complex Java application (web services and workflow engine with data replication and distributed in-memory database). Due to the large structure of the organisation, the procedure involves co-ordinating the communications between 3 teams during the rollout.
  • Designed, developed and tested systems for receiving, parsing and processing orders and invoices in the EDIFACT and TRADACOMS dialects of EDI.
  • Designed, developed and tested a server daemon providing network access to a collection of software libraries querying a legacy ISAM database
  • Developed the backend to a dynamic discussion-board website with multimedia functionality, where video files are converted automatically into FLV format (Flash) after uploading and made immediately available for viewing via the site
  • Developed the backend to a dynamic website with CMS for book wholesaling. Books can be searched for by all possible bibliographic details; orders are fed automatically into the company's internal system. Customers can query the status of their orders in real-time and download dynamically-created MARC files containing bibliographic information.
  • Designed and developed the backend for an instant-messaging system, with IRC-like chat functionality. Communication between clients and server was implemented with a custom-developed XML protocol.
  • Designed, developed and tested a network protection system which reads the system logs and automatically manipulates the server firewall rules to close off attacks when attempted misuse of various ports is observed.
  • Design, automation and execution of technical test concepts for a Siebel application containing 10 million+ customer records, including data-cleansing SQL scripts.
